I grew up with very strict parents. With a father from Nigeria, it is culturally correct to be hard on your children in order for them to grow up and be successful. After being married for so many years my mother quickly caught on to my father’s style of parenting and I was stuck with two strict parents. Of course, no child is happy with one super strict parent, so to have two seemed like hell. I often got in trouble for not following their rules.
